Baptism - Baptism - Adults Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. But John tried to deter him, saying, "I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?"Jesus replied, "Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness." Then John consented. Matthew 3:13-15 Jesus came to earth to be our example and to cleanse us of our sins, He at the age of around 30-32 was baptized in the River Jordan by John the Baptist. If Jesus, who had no sin had to be baptized, you think you don't? In Christianity, baptism (from Greek baptizo: "immersing", "performing the ritual act "washing") with the use of water by which one has washed away the sins they repented of according to the words of Christ of the Christian Church. Jesus explained to Nicodemus in John 3:1-5 you must be born again of the water and of the Spirit or you cannot see the kingdom of Heaven Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again John 3:1-7 "How can you be born the second time", asked Nicodemus. Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You must be born again.' The usual form of baptism among the earliest Christians was for the candidate (or "baptizand") to be immersed totally While John the Baptist's use of a deep river for his baptism suggests immersion. Key Benefits
Repentance and Confession is not the same... See Acts chapter 2 The bible instructs us to repent and be baptized not confess our babies sins and sprinkle them
